Description
General Product Description:
Bio-Sock contains blends of bacteria, bacterial nutrients, and a unique oxygen release compound designed for use with or without a Delivery System. Bio-Sock can be placed directly in wastewater or in a Delivery System. The Bio-Socks are formulated to produce grease breaking and sludge digesting bacteria for a period of 30 days before replacement is required. Bio-Sock is primarily used for grease reduction in primary effluents, lift stations, grease traps, and collection wells.
Bio-Sock contents are in a cloth outer bag that has an attached 4 meter tether. The tether is used to secure the bag to a post or rail so that the Bio-Sock stays where it is needed.
Alternatively, the Bio-Sock can be placed directly into a Delivery System.
Product Composition:
Bio-Sock contains 100% food grade nutrients, including vitamins, proteins, starches, fats, and cellulose. It contains sufficient N and P to support growth of any heterotrophic bacteria in the appropriate Delivery Systems. Bio-Sock contains three species of bacillus: subtilis, amyloliquefaciens, and licheniformis. All of the bacillus bacteria are in spore form and are
rated BioSafety Level 1 by the American Type Culture Collection (non-hazardous, non-pathogenic, and not genetically altered in any way). Bio-Socks also contain a unique blend of oxygen release compounds including Magnesium Peroxide, Calcium Peroxide, Magnesium Hydroxide, and buffers (that allow for pH control suitable for bacterial growth within the Bio-Sock). These compounds react together when placed in water to produce oxygen that initiates growth and enzyme production of the Bio-Sock bacteria.
Product Safety Considerations:
There are no known hazards with this product. It is non-corrosive and non-irritating. The product can be disposed of with yard or garden waste, as it is 100% biodegradable.
Shelf Life and Storage:
Bio-Socks have an indefinite shelf life, but are hygroscopic materials. The product may become hard under storage, and will be more difficult to hydrate. Under normal conditions, the product will fully hydrate and become functional within 24-72 hours of immersion in water.
Intended Use:
- BIO-SOCK is used to promote solubility of grease, organic polymers, and municipal sludge.
- When used according to directions; large amounts of lipase, amylase, protease, and cellulose are formed. These enzymes promote solubility.
Shelf Life and Storage:
- BIO-SOCK has an indefinite shelf life, but are hydroscopic materials.
- BIO-SOCK may become hard after long term storage which could make it more difficult to hydrate.
- Under normal conditions, the BIO-SOCK will fully hydrate and become functional within 24-72 hours of immersion in water.
